New ways of storytelling

Post by bappy8 »

Now a story is emerging. Fascinating, isn’t it? You’re probably sympathizing with the small circle and angry at the large triangle. A narrative is forming in your head that doesn’t really exist. Humans are programmed to think in stories. Our brains go into overdrive when we recognize a story somewhere. But why? Why do we love them so much? The answer is simple: a story, in its most basic form, is a connection between cause and effect. And that’s exactly how our brains try to make sense of the world.

A story, in its most basic form, is a connection between cause and effect.

And every time we hear a story, we try to connect it to our own experiences from the past phone number list The most beautiful stories are stories that we recognize, where we can project our emotions. And the simpler the story, the easier it becomes. Everyone has been the circle in the animation of Heider and Simmel.

This need for stories is also at the heart of social media. Never before has there been a place that made it so easy to tell stories, or listen to stories. And with every new development in the world of social media, new ways of storytelling emerged . And then we came to stories . On Snapchat and Instagram, but also on Facebook, WhatsApp and Messenger.

When I think about the potential of stories, my heart starts beating with excitement. Stories are a way to put separate fragments in a sequence, and the brain of the viewer fills in the rest. And it is fun to tell these stories! It is not as high-threshold as a vlog on YouTube, and your story is never interrupted or twisted by algorithms or other timeline problems. A photo from the window of a train followed by a screenshot of a Spotify screen immediately tells a story with all kinds of emotions. Fragments of a trip abroad immediately evoke associations with your own travels. My narrative brain is already working overtime!
