After discovering the WordPress community in the UK, Hauwa was intrigued by its sheer scale, and when she heard that WordCamp Europe was a flagship event that attracted thousands of people from all over the world, she wanted to get involved and use her project management skills. She applied and volunteered for the three-day conference, which was held in Berlin, Germany, in 2019. At the event, Hauwa not only met participants from all over the world, but also discovered the vibrant WordPress community in her native Nigeria. She then discovered how easy it is to stay in touch with friends from all over the world via instant messaging.
Inspired by people who were using WordPress to improve the lives of people in Nigeria and other parts of Africa, Hauwa began exploring how WordPress and its global community could help improve whatsapp number list understanding across cultures and continents.

Hauwa’s father, Dr. Audu Kwasau Abasiya, and her mother, Rosalind Zulai Abasiya, are known for their philanthropic work, particularly in supporting people in Kaduna, in northern Nigeria, and Abuja in the center of the country. Hauwa explains, “My mother comes from a family that shares their skills to provide practical help. From friends I met through WordPress, I learned that there are sections of society that have the same ethic. I could be a part of that, and contribute to the future of Nigeria.”
Her parents founded a charity that aims to help widows, orphans and children gain access to education, from finance to music. It connects those who need help with those who can provide support.
